John 8:40
But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.
John 8:45
And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
So, we see at the very least if you tell the truth you won’t be believed. On the other hand you could have people that want to kill you. How powerful are beliefs and ideas in a person’s heart that killing another how far they’d go to keep the truth buried. Never allowing it to the light. Only for so long though…..
Luke 8:17
For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
and
Luke 12:3
Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
Lastly….
John 15:18-27
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
